Our market ruled very quiet SIR THOMAS LIPTON, strongly during the past week with no

material change in prices though several companies have recently shown appreciable results in their annual Balance-shouts

The following are the principal alterations since last week-

Banks:-Have firmed up some. what with buyers at 81,100 after sales have been effected at this price:

Unions: Changed hands at $285. Canton Insurances & Hong Kong Fires:Are firm at quotations.

Hong Kong Lands:-Buyers seem to have alled their requirements for the present. The price is now quoted nominal

Hong Kong Hotels:-After the publication of their balance sheet have firmed a little and now have buyers at $8, after" shares having changed hands at this price.

Trams: Declined slightly and sales have been reported at $22.

Mr. Harvey Firestone, after a luncheon with Mr. Coolidge, told the Press that he believed the present British "monopoly" in crude rubber could be broken in a decade as a result of planting a million acres in Liberia.
