The next, witness was the man whom the accused in alleged to have first attacked and who said he had not met the accused before. While Lan Sui was talking to him,. accused took out a knife and for no apparent reason whatever stabbed, him several times in the back.

This morning Mr. Cockle, Super- intendent of the Singapore Harbour Board Police, gave evidence that the accused had the opportunity of cross-examining the witnesses for the Crown at both the police court and hospital. Four Japanese, wit nesses and one German witness had left Singapore and were now in Japan and Korea.
