OVERLAND "CHINA MAIL.

The eyes of the whole world are now focussed on Hankow. Every day comment is broadcast to indicate the views of all interested parties. That information from the spot is early sought is plainly abundant. All the daily reports, collected from all sources, are comprehensively and faithfully reproduced in the "Overland China Mail."

As will be seen in the daily issue, these reports come from the largest variety of sources this week, making up a complete and vivid pen-picture of the stirring events. Not only do they reflect the opinions of British and the Chinese Nationalists, but": also of disinterested parties.

Such a collection is the best for sending away to friends at Home and abroad, friends who eagerly look forward to re- sidents in China telling them all they want to know about the developments, not only at Hankow, but in other Treaty ports.

London. Dec. 28. Twenty-four sailors of the French barque. "Eugene Schneider" pro ceeding to Ghent from West Africa, are missing as a result of a coll- ston on Christmas night, 30 miles from Portland, with the Elder Dempster steamer "Burutu," which picked up four Frenchmen.

NELSON'S FLAGSHIP.

CONCRETE WALL AS RESTING PLACE..

The renovation of the hull of H.M.S. "Victory" has been com pleted, and arrangements have now been completed for the final resting-place of Nelson's old flag- ship.

Professor Callender, one of the organisers of the "Save the Victory" Fund, stated that it has just been decided to build at a cost of £2,000 a concrete wall on which the "Victory" "will per- manently rest in the oldest dry: dock in the world, built at Ports- mouth by Henry VIH. This de cision was taken in order to avoid the flattening of the keel. The wall, which will be ready in about three months, will be 200ft. long and 20in. wide, and will stand

high at the stern and 9ft. high at the bow of the ship. The "Vic- tory" will thus be poised on her keel, and supported in an upright position by horizontal steel bars. Some doubt had been expressedThere will be arches in the con- whether British shipowners are tak- shiping to the motor vessel to the same extent as their foreign competitors, but according to The Motor Ship:
