come under tres generally "Non-residens allen" qualification. where income tax is concerned, and it is customary for their agents to deduct income tax before forward- ing royalties.
al The tax is 5 per cent. on amounts over 1,000 dollars, with a robate of 25 per cent. of the income is "aarned."
A British, author who does not employ an agent and succeeds in getting his royalties sent here with- out deduction for income tax can depend upon being pauheed upon by the authorities if he ever gets foot in the United States.
