Following the return from Canton on Saturday afternoon of the Hongkong delegates to the Boycott Settlement Conference. a British communique has been issued containing reports of the concluding meetings, the statement of the Chinese delegation with reference to the Commission of Enquiry proposal, and the statement by the Bri-proposal would be subject to both tish delegation with reference to the Loan proposal,
It will be seen that the British delegation rejected emphatically(e) Fa denund for compensation to strikers and pointed out various Fobjections to an international commission of enquiry into the Shakce incident of June 28. 1925, which is asked for by the Chinese delegates.
The Loan proposal put forward by the British delegates is in- dicated as showing, the goodwill which Hongkong feels towards Canton, and one of its objects would be the construction of a loop line to connect the Canton- Hankow Railway and the Canton Kowloon Railway.
The Conference is adjourned sine die for the purpose of refer- ring the proposals to the Govern- ments concerned..
