In a review of the peppermint oll altuation appearing in the June issue of "Commerce Monthly," the National Bank of Gommerce in New York says:
"As a result of two short crops in succcasion. peppermint oli, a volatile oil used in menthol manu fucture. in perfomery and as a beun basis for flavouring, háa selling at abnormally high prices during the 1925-26 ereps year. From 300,000 to 350,000 pounds | were produced in 1924, and the 1926 crop is estimated at 250,000 to 300.000 pounds, about half the yield expected on the basis of acreage planted. As normal con- sumption, in the United States is placed at 400,000 pounds annually, this meant a defeit in both years.
