Kilner (Yorkshire),
(Leicester- (Yorkshire), Astill shire), Root (Worcestershire), Smith Warwickshire), Watson (Lancashire), Hammond (Glou- (cestershire), and Collins (Kent).
In an interview, Mr. Calthorpe said he realised he had a very good side, and easily the best ever sent to the West Indies. They were strong in batting and had plenty of spin bowlers, but he rather thought it would have been better had a really fast bowler been included in the team. Me was not quite sure how some of the men would fare on the mat- ting wickets, and was a little dubious as to whether Root would be able to swing the ball in the very clear atmosphère in which they would have to play.
Still, he hoped much of Ham- mond, whom he regarded as really the fast bowler of the side, and thenght Kilner and Astill would! come through the tour very well
They were all looking forward to having a good time, und, he added sn Engly. "We shall be thinking of cricketers freezing at home in the snow and cold while we bask in the beautiful sun- ! shine."
