In spite of a keen north wind which made itself felt early in the morning in particular, the weather at Fanting yesterday was leal for the playing off of the Anal of the annual championship of the Royal Hongkong Golf Club. the contestants being H U. Ireland and W. Douglas.

With a start made at 9.30 a.m. the first 18 holes were covered in remarkably good sime allowing for ample tiffin time and a start to be made for the second 18 at 12.45. The golf throughout was of a high standard and at no time was either player in serious difficulty. Thero was no sign of nervousness appar ent in the play, of either
