In the realm of local cricket, the 13.K.C.C,`acts, in soms respectu, as the M.C.C. at Lord's. The present pavillon is not old. Its predecessor stood at the City Hall corner of the ground and was -Loo small to accommodate the increaming members, When the old pavilion was demolished the road
bend, was widened and the rails carried back. Every spring the Cofony 'A open lawn tennis tournament
is sponsored at the H.K.C.C. Interpori cricket mutches are invariably played on the ground.
Ring from a very humble origin, the Cralgengawer Cricket Club
is now the centre of both sporting and social activities on a irge scale. in pre-War seasons, the C.C.C. won the local cricket league. This season the senior bowls chompibnskip was lifted. Cricket, tennis and bowls are the favourites but the clubhouse is better known for its hospitality and the many merry dances organised in the season.
At the annual general meeting of the Civil Service Cricket Club held on September 30, a motion was passed nuthorising the new committee to draw fixed deposit up to $3,000 for repairs and alterations to the clubhouse a sign of the club's popularity and the need of expansion. Last season the C.8.C.C. Anished top in both divisions of the cricket league.. Tazma aisò compotë. In the tennis and bowls leaguce.

POLICE RECREATION CLUB, Happy Valley.
Situated in a charming spot in Kowloon is the Club de Recrelo, winners of nat year' junior football league and the home of lawn tennis for Portoguese residents on the Peninsula. Mr. E. V. M. R. de Sousa in President. The clubhouse is the small building in the middle of the picture, at the rear of the courts,
Above is a photograph of the Royal Hongkong Golf Club's house at the Monument corner of the. Race Course. It appears as it stood prior to the great disaster of 1918 when many lost their lives in the fire and this building was destroyed. The clubhouse was designed by Mr. E. A. Ram-still resident in the Colony-and was built in the early '90s. The upper floor' was added later and the verandah railing, was one of the latest additions.
Years ago, the Police R.C. were formidable contenders for, the lawn bowls champion- ship of the Colony. Last season they were relegated but regained nemlority at the first time of anking:
Two seasons ago, the Club was deprived of home cricket matches on account of the state of the ground but the willow enthusiasts are not to be denied this season. Owing to the ground being unsuitable the Police football matches are all played awar.??
