THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 1925,

THEATRE ROYAL.

"BROADCASTERS" OPENING

ENTERTAINMENT.

ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME.

The entertainment provided by the "Broadcasters" at the Theatre Royal last night when they open- ed a short season there, was of that light and snappy kind that one looks for in miniature revue with an ocensional item allowing full scope for the employment by Miss Broadhurst and Miss Lucina of voices of considerable charm.

These two versatile artistes were just as much at home in assisting.in their running com- mentary of wit, Messrs. Crichton and Wallingford Tate, accom- plished variety entertainers already known to Hongkong audiences. 4Quite apart from the merit of the performance itself, a factor which is worthy of record in that it added considerably" to the enjoyment of the audience was the clearness of enunciation.

The "Broadcasters" are giving entertainments "to-night and on Friday and Saturday nights, with a change of programme each time. They should have crowded houses for all performances.

SCORES CENTURY IN TWO. DAY MATCH.

SHANGHAI CRICKET STAR

Against the bowling of the Shanghai Cricket Club which in- cluded Dr. W. E. O'Hara, H. Rogerson, H. W. Allison, G. M. Billings and L. F. Stokes, Harry Ollerdesgen scored 117 runs out of a total of 225 last Saturday, playing for the Shanghai Recrea- tion Club.

Outside of interport matches, perhaps the most important event in the Shanghai cricket season is the "Club. v. Recs" match, played over two days.

Mr. H. B. Ollerdessen is, of course, well known to Hongkong. having represented Shanghai here on several occasions.

"Torry" Wilson, the Shanghai fast bowler, made 23, the third highest score in the same innings.
