Interesting Survey,

"There are in Great Britain 42 million persons, of whom about 23 millions are adults, and about 20 millions are receivers of incomes. It is this mass of people who, among them, produce the wealth, What do the records show on the matter of the distribution of the product? In what sort of rough proportions do the people own property? And in what sort of proportions do they divide the national income?" asks the "Liberal Magazine" when quoting a paper read at the Merseyside Liberal School. It is a subject vital to all partics, and for that reason the facts quoted are given below. There will be many who will like to keep these figures for future reference.

INCOME-RECEIVERS.

"The number of income- receivers is somewhat smaller than the adult population. From the 28 million adults, we have to deduct about 8 million wives who have no separate incomes; but, on the other hand, we have to add about 5 million young persons, between the ages of 15 and 20, who are receivers of incomes. These two processes yield the figure of 20 millions; and, as a matter of fact, it appears that the number of income-receivers is a little below that.
