LAWN BOWLS.

SATURDAY'S LEAGUE

GAMES

TAIKOO'S SUCCESS.

THE CHINA MAIL:

On Saturday the Lawn Bowls League resumed after a lapse of Some weeks. Honours went to the Taikoo Recreation Club who won in both sections.

Craigengower unexpectedly went under to the Kowloon Bowling Green by a majority of 15 points. The Indians, for the first time since they took up bowling, met their Waterloo on their own green at the hands of the Taikoo eccond string feature that is worthy of record in the annals of bowls in the Colony. In losing however, the Indians were by no means disgraced as the details of the match show. Apparently the lack of practice caught them napping.

With u-deficit of six runs, the Americans éntered the Anal full of determination, but were all despatched after the ad- dition of two runs. The poor both sides has to be scoring on attributed to the good fielding, which was above the average.

In the earlier game, the Full pinos scored a runaway victory against the Indians, the latter being hopelessly outclassed in pitching and fielding.

F. A. MEETING.

SEASON TO BEGIN SHORTLY.

The postponed annual general meeting of the Hongkong Football Association will be held on Friday at, 5.80 p.m at the Volunteer Headquarters (by kind permission of Lieut.-Colonel L. G. Bird).

In spite of the time that has elapsed since the close of last season there should be much interest taken in the annual meet-¦ Ing, which will doubtless show its appreciation of the work of the executive officers by re-electing them en bloc.

In addition to dealing with the work of the past season, which fortunately concluded before the strike commenced, arrangements will have to be made for the new season, which will open in a few weeks' time.'
