SIR HARI SINGH'S A.D.C. STILL IN PRISON,

Captain Charles Arthur, the, former A.D.C. to Sig Huri Singh, remmins in prison, a new applica tion to get him his liberty pro visionally having been rejected.

Captain Arthur, with the per- mission of the French authorities, winte recently to Sir Hari Singh appealing to him to give evidence in his favour.

|| Captain Arthur has been in prison in Paris since December 2, when he was arrested on a British ex- tradition warrant charging him with having ruoived a cheque for £150,000 which had been stolen abroad."

After longthy hearings tho Paris magistrate, on January 30. reject- ed the demand for extradition so the alloged offence was barred by the Statute of Limitations, and it was decided that the French courta should try Captain Arthur on 15 charge of extorting funds,"

The French Bathorities have already been three and a helf mouths in propuring the case aguinat him. He appealed for bail in February, but the plea was re- jected.
