The traffic receipts for the year under review show an increase' of $19,787,67 over the corresponding" period of last year but the net! profits are $1.756.92 less. This is accounted for by the fact that last non-recurrent year we made a prodt of $16,765 on investments. realized; the difference represents increased running expenses. The item unexpired season tickets no longer figures as a liability in the accounts, as we ceased issuing these in June last.- Under the heading of assets "Mount Cameron Surrey" $3,000 appears for the first time. This survey cost $6,000 of which the Govern
If ment agreed to pay half. nothing eventuates from the pro- jected scheme, this $3,000 will have to be writion off the Com- pany's books.
I do not think there is anything else in the accounts which calle for any comment, but I think shareholders and the general public would like to know what improvements have been effected and what will shortly be under- taken.
