Threats from pirates that if sums of money were not paid ships would be mised were referred to at the monthly meeting yesterday of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce when. Mr. LI Yau-chued the Chairman, read a folut letter from shipping companies trading Wuchow in which the threats were referred to and protection 'asked for. That the threats were not idle, the letter stated, was proved by the fact that after the expiry of the week the letter stipulated would be given the Companies concerned to pay the money the s..
