BLOEMFONTEIN, April 20. Starting with a squabble in the Kaffir location, serious distur bances developed necessitating the calling out of the military volunteers.

Thereupon they attempted to arrest the ringleaders, but meeting obstruction, fired at the crowd of 4,000 after due warning.
