UNEXPECTED PARACHUTE JUMP

This remarkable action photograph shows an aviator making an

unexpected parachute jump during tests. The jumper walked out on

the wing of the plane before leaping clear, but the parachute opened rapidly and the aviator was dragged off his feet into space. After a

drop of a few feet, he righted himself and landed safely.

· Gutzon Borglum, famous sculptor of the Confederate Memorial on the face of Stone Mountain, near Atlanta, was summarily dismissed by the committee in charge of the construction of the statue. It is alleged, that Borglum then destroyed the precious models and plans of the memorial and suit for £10,000 was begun against him for alleged vandalism.

policeman's officiul report declared he had to travel seventy-two miles

an hour to catch the Bryan automobile. Sir Samuel Hoare, British

Air Secretary, asked the Parliament for £20,000,000 for the air service

for the fiscal year 1925-1926.
