A PHILANTHROPIST.
The Nottingham Cripples' Fund has just received a handsome donation of £1,000 from Sir Harold Bowden, Bart, who recently raised 10,000 Guineas for the Cycle and Motor Trade Benevolent Fund at a banquet at which the Prince of Wales was present. Sir Harold was himself a donor of $1,000 towards that subscription and is known as one of the most generous of our modern philan. thropists. It is only a little while ago that he gave £2,500 to provide the playing fields of the Persse School at Cambridge, and a similar sum to the late Sir Napier Burnett's Hospital Fund, while it was ho who made the Wembley Imperial Pageant last summer possible by guaranteeing it to the extent of £33,000.
Sir Harold Bowden is this year's President of the Commercial
