In the silver market for the past, year the normal fluctuations which were in evidence during 1923 have continued Although the average price for the twelve months is higher, as shown in the table bolow, the ranke has varied during the whole year as against 3 3-16d, in 1923.

The year opened with the price 33d, and during the first half of January there were rather sharp fluctuations, the price advancing to 34 1-16d. in the first three days and falling to 32 15-16d. by the 11th owing to heavy China sales. After this, however, the market seemed to settle down, and during February and March the highest and lowest quotations were 34 1-16d. and 33 5-16d. respectively.
