Canton, February 6.

Isu Shung-ching, brother of General Hsu Shung-chi, who wa once a staunch Christian, is DOW alleged to be strongly urging anti- Christianity.

Most of the shops in Canton have. not resurned business after the New Year holidays. It is accordingly presumed that trouble is antici- pated. Along the Bund many are now flying the five-barred national flag instead of the Revolutionary ensign.

RABIES.

BLACK CHOW DOG SHOT.

A black chow dog, believed to be suffering from råbles, was shot by Sanitary Jospector Strange at No. 297, Des Voeux Road Central, yesterday. So far no report has been received that any person was attacked by the animal.

Another dog, reported to belong to Mr. Ramsay, of No. It, Pratt Building, was taken to Kennedy Town yesterday for observation.

New York, February 6.—Mr. Rockefeller, junior, has donated G. $500,000 to the Construction Fund of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The fund now totals över six ́and a half million’dollara. It will be the third largest cathedral in the world, the choir of which is already finished, and for which fifteen million dollars are wanted. -Reuter's American Service.
