S.R.C. and other Clubs. Such friendly games and the matches in "the Club Tournament would, the Chairman thought, fill up the whole season and give everybody a game during the season, but it would require the keenness of all cricketers in the Club.

Sydney, January 31. That i

In the Australiasian lawn Cover try3 Stoke brought them to the point that

tennis championships finals, Middles they would require the sole use of the ground and he did not think Anderson beat Patterson 11-9: borough

2-6, 6-2, 6-8; Paterson the Cricket Club would be able to O'Hara Wood beat Anderson and participate this year in the Kalms by 6-4, 9-7, 7-6 in the League. The sub-committee re- gretted this, decision, because, to la certain extent, he thought it was advisable to support the League, but at the same time, he thought it was more important to give members of the Club games more frequently than they had in the past.

The proposal for the reinstate- ment of the Second Eleven matches which the. Chairman pointed out would undoubtedly necessitate the withdrawal from the League was put to the meet- ing and approved.

In the course of the discussion on the matter the Chairman remarked that there was no doubt that the quality of S.C.C. cricket needed improving very badly.

The Chairman informed the meeting that the sub-committee was particularly keen on starting games at 5 p.m. on Fridays and continuing at 2 p.m. on Satur- days, in view of which it was pro- posed to give up the practice nets on Mondays and Wednesdays. He pointed out that this was a matter which require the sanction of the Committee of the Club..

The meeting was in favour of the proposal

1:

The question of Sunday cricket was also discussed, the question arising out of desirability of securing two days for certain matches. The opinion of the meeting was in favour of an effort being made to obtain sanc- tion for cricket occasionally on Sundays.

The next item on the agenda was consideration of the question of inviting a China team to visit
