SIR PHILIP LLO..

NAME TROUBLES OF A

MINISTER.

Changing a name is easier than. changing a habit, as Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister (late Sir Philip Lloyd-Greame), President of the Board of Trade, is finding daily.

The change of, name was a necessary sequel to Sir Philip's inheritance of a considerable fortune through, his wife's mother (who was the Hon. Mary Cunliffe- Lister). But Sir Philip Cunliffe. Lister finds it difficult to forget Sir. Philip Lloyd-Greame, who will persist in signing cheques drawn by Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister and in other ways usurping the privi leges of his supplanter.

Also, Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister's secretary cannot forget that he has left the service of Sir Philip Lloyd-Greame, in whose naine he makes appointments for his new employer. And the old friends of Sir Philip Lloyd-Greame forget.tp recognise the new name in the old • personality.

Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister's de- partmental staff gets over the difficulty by saying "The President
