TELEGRAMS TO CANTON.

The Hongkong office of the Chinese Telegraphs Administra tion begs to announce that tele- grams for Canton will be accepted as from January 20, 1925, to be despatched as Eastern Extension Co.'s cables to Macao and land lines from Chin Shan to Canton.

The charge for this service will be eighteen cents H.K. currency per word (nine cents for cable service to Macad. and nine cents for land line service to Canton.)

Telegrams must be made nut duplicate, on forms of the Eastern Extension Cu.

A base charge af twenty-nine cents on each telegram will be collected (twenty cents for special messenger from tacno to Chin-Shan and nine cents for distinguishing preßx from Hongkong to Macao)

the case of interruption of the land lines, half the rate, ie, nine cest per word, (being charge for land line' transmission) will be refunded 10 Hender but no refund can be made in respect of the other half for trans- mission by cable, to Macao
