Reporting on the trade of Hankow for the week ending December 17, the British Chamber of Commerce state:
Exports.-Business last week was quiet; small transactions only of Wood oil and China grass were reported. The local market for China grass and cow hides is strong, for wood oil, tallow and cotton easier. There is very little inquiry from, abroad.
Piece Goods and Yarn-Market quiet and little demand. A few sales from stock are reported. Clearances very poor.
