OBITUARY.
MR. H H. SEARLE.
His many friends will regret the death, which occurred early. Wed- nesday morning at the Government Civil Hospital, of Mr. Henry Har- court Searle, of the Naval Depôt, Kowloon. He was taken Christmas Day suffering from paeumonia and was immediately conveyed to Hospital.

Mr. Searle had been a resident of the Colony for about two years and was very well-known in Kow. Joon. He was 45 years of age. Much sympathy will be extended to Mrs. Searle and her daughter, Mrs. Haywood, in their bereavement.
The funeral took place, "at "the Cemetery, "at Happy Valley service being conducted by the Rev. W. Gill, B. A. Chaplain, H. M. S. Titanfa." Among those present were Messrs. Salter. Steele, Mitch, A., R. Whibley, Knight, Nashford, A. G. Pile, Woodger, C. H. Lyson, J. P. Robinson, James, Padbury, D. O de Silva, and the European and native staffs of the Victualling Stores Office.
