The. Prince of Wales made a determined but unsuccessful attempt during a visit to West- minster Hospital to coax one of the patients, Bessie Day, aged three years, into a reasonable frame of mind. Bessie, after three weeks' unconsciousness following a 40ft. fall, is making a good recovery from her injuries. When told that the Prince was coming to see her she began to cry and declared, "I don't want to see the big Prince." She was screaming when the Prince entered the ward He walked to her bedside and she pushed her fists in her eyes and cried louder than ever. He triail to get her to talk; but all' to no purpose. To mark his visit one of the wards will be named the Prince's Ward.
