On one of the incoming boats from the South this morning, Revenue Officer Lanigan and a party of revenue-officers, effected a seizure of opium probably worth $30,000.-
After finding secreted cavity, covered by a piece of metal said to be screwed in, the search party drew out hundreds of small bags
of "dope"
A Government department launch took the opium back to the Imports and Exports Department. It is estimated that the seizure amounts to about 5,000 taels.
