Headmaster's Retirement.
Mr. Alexander Apderson, M.A., F.E.L.S., has retired from the head mastership of Cambusnethan Street Public School, Stonehouac, Mr. after 33 years of service. Anderson has received several handsome gifts in parting from the pupils and staff of the school, who presented him with binoculars, well from farmer pupils and wishers, and from the members of the local Labour Party. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson have set out on a world tour.
Parsons in Business.
So hard-pressed are some of the English clergy that it has become absolutely necessary for many poor parsons to augment their in- comes by devoting a part of their time to some" outside" occupation. One curate plays the piano in a cinema, though nobody is aware that the merry jazz he is responsible for is composed by the same brain that frames the Sunday sermons. Quite a lot of clerics are running shops under fictious names, and one of the big plays shartly to be presented is the product of a clerica! brain. Hongkong."Lord Sunlight" 74. ›

Lord Leverhulme, who has now reached 74, is a splendid type of millionaire. Only the other day he declared that he still gets up at 4-30 and has his early morning tea half an hour later. But then, he always retires to his bedroom at ten, even if there is the immediate. prospect of another reel-and he does like to dance! During his business career Lord Levezhulme has spent over 30 millions on advertising. He is the head of ten score of associated companies, and has 40,000 employees, of whom The about 16,000 are co-partners. capital of his companies has in- creased by almost £1,000,000 for every year he has been in business. Cheques For Prince.
Even the Prince of Wales, rich man as he is, can, like the rest of us, derive a distinct feeling of pleasure from, the receipt of a substantial cheque. Consequently, he was very happy to find wait- ing for him at the E.P. Ranch two useful pieces of bank-paper. One of these was for 500 dollars and |the other for 450. Both came from
agricultural exhibitions, and re- presented sums won by the cattle sent from his ranch. This pleasant little windfall of more than £200 would be appreciated by the Prince more for what it meant than for itself alone. The Prince's stock and the ranch generally are a credit to the staff, and these prizes show the zeal with which his ranchnten look after their royal master's interests. Watching the Scissors.
Towards midnight in the General Post Office, London, one night in mail week, a notice was issued which caused something of a sensa- tion. It stated that "Officers re- quiring the Toan of a pair of scissors must produce an admission card and write their name and number plainly when applying for same." A strange order, perhaps a little frivolous in appearance, but be- hind it lay suspicion of a crime. Earlier in the evening two pairs of heavy official shears were missing, and Inter two registered mail bags, valued at £2500, could not be found. The protection of the nails is a matter of considerable to the Post Office,

"Now see that he takes Sanatogen regularly three times a day!
That is the doctor's parting injunction- addressed to the wife because he knows she will hold the patient to it.
"Feed your patient systematically with Sanatogen," writes a doctor to his confrères in the Medical Press. "It is readily absorbed, and has an immediate and remarkable effect, shown by a steady increase, of weight and mus cular strength.. The patient sleeps; thecolouris brought back to his cheeks; his energy of mind and body is gradually restored, and he loses his depression of spirits."
