Attack Launched. Suddenly, said Mr. Harlĕrigg, the second defendant turned on the doctor and pulled him down, The first defondant then produced a dagger and struck at the doctor, who in all probability owed his life to a leather wallet in an inner pocket and to a cigarette holder which had been cut into. The wounds which he received from the first defendant were, there- fore, superficial; but the second defendant produced a chisel and inflicted wounds on the head which had necessitated the removal of six teeth. The men had run away, had been chased, in the course of the flight being observed by several people and escaped for the time being in a sampan. They were arrested Inter.
