HONGKONG TIDE.

The tide-table given below has been compiled at the National Almanas Ofice in London from the result of the analysis of observations taken by means of an automatic tide-recording machine in the Water Folice Basin at Telm Sha Taul during the years 1998-9.

The sero of the table corresponds with the zero of the sounding in the Ad miralty Chart, which has been found to be 4 feet 8 inches below mean sea-level. To obtain the depth of water on the tide gange at the Victoria Naval Yard add 8 feet 4 inches, and on the gango at Lamont-Dock, Aberdeen, add 10. feet 4 inches to the height given in the table.
