The President had previously referred to an English company, charging that if had helped the rebels under de la Huerta whea they were in possession of Vera Cruz, Puerto Hexico and Tuxpan

American oil men are at a loss. to understand what other pil company could be accused of obstructing progress in Mexico, and point out that one American company made a payment on

advance taxes to the Mexican Government amounting to several million dollars in order to relieve the financial stringency.

It is rumoured that the Chargé des Archives of Great Britain, Gordon Cummings, has been requested to leave Mexico. This Tumour is impossible to confirm, hut is accepted by those in a posi tion to know: Relations between the Mexican Government and Mr. Cummings have been far from friendly for months. ","

Hope for settlement of the lengthy dispute between the Mexican Eagle Oil Company and its employes seemed on the verge of realization today, represen tatives of the Regional Federation of Labour having reached an agree ment with the local manager of El Aguila.

Resumption of work is expected as soon as the company's employes" in Tampico ratify the agreement, the provisions of which have not been made known.
