Tho fortnightly report on imports by the Hongkong General Chumber of Commeres is as follows :-

Cotton Piece Goods & Fancy Cotton Goods-Since our last report the Home Market is firmer, and it is difficult to get any concessions from makers whose order books for the most part are far from full. An improyed exchange his heiped to bridge the gap in values, and soFTIC business has transpired in Lawng and other dyed goods for Autumn shipment. Clearances have been hindered by bad weather; but there is plenty of enquiry and, the tone generally is healthy.

Cotton Tam-There has been a better feeling during the fortnight under review and a fair business his been transacted at previous rates. Quotations are No. 10s. $220/- 240. No. 128. 8235/245. No. 106. $240/245. No. 20s. $230/240. Arrivals 1,850. Shipments nil Sales 2.500 bales. Unsold stock) 5,100 bales, Bargians 4,800 bales.

Woollens-Clearances are at a stadstill, and there is no fresh, on- quiry.

Raw Cottons.-No salos to report and quotations are purely nominal- Indian description at $40/58. Chin. ese staple $42.60.

Metals.There is no change in! prices to report with the exception of the Tin Plates which are easier. Very little business all round.
