The 31st annual report of the Bulletin, Board of Directors to the share... holders of the Mercantile Bank of India Ltd., is as follows:---

The Net Profits for the year, after providing for bad and doubt ful debts, and including £152,105. Os. IId. brought forward from last Account, amount to £410,811. Its. d. From this sum has to be deducted £84,000 being the Interim Dividend of 8 per cent, less in- come Tax, on the "A""B" and "C" Shares paid fa September last.

The Directors have added £50,000 to the Reserve Fund (raising it to 50,000) £15,000 to the, Officers' Pension Fund, and

written £20,000 off Freehold Bank- ing Premises. They now recom- mend a Final Dividend on the "A" "B" and "C" Shares of 8 per cent., less Income Tax (making 16 per cent, for the year), leaving a balance of £57,811, s. d. to be carried forward.

Branches of the Bank have been opened at Simla, Batavia and Soerabaya.

The following Directors retire by rotation, hut, being eligible, offer themselves for re-election
