As the day's', takings were being checked at the counter of A shop in Hollywood Road yester- day evening, a man who gave the impression, that he was visiting the adjacent store, walked up and grabbed two bundles of · notes.' Surprise ensured succoss as he was able to dash out into the street and turn into Square Street. The shop fokis gave chase but lost aight of their quarry in a crowded part of the street where an orchestra was performing.
The shop where the robbery was committed was occupied by the Wing Yee rice firm, No. 205, Hollywood Rond. A report was made subsequently to the police when the loss was placed at $496.
