with other Interpoft contests. Commenting on the fact that It was more difficult to get siisfactory rugby teams than to get-teams for various other sports, Sir Claud feferred to the hardness of the Hongkong ground for rugby, and expressed sympathy with Messrs. Dowley and Grow (both Shanghai- men) who had suffered injuries.
Dall weather marked the occasion of the match between Shanghal and the Navy yesterday. From the start it was evident that Shanghai were feeling the effects of their match on the previous day and they also showed a wholesome res pect for the hardness of the ground witness their disincliantion to tackle low.
Shanghai again won the toes and elected to defend the Marrison Hill end of the ground. The first thrill came when the Shanghai three quarters got moving and Bichard was pulled up just short of the line. The Navy brought play back to the balf way region and then gradually sook command.
