Opening the case for the secution, the Crown Solicitor (Mr. H. who entirely omitted this name fons. from their coupons. On the whole, the placing of the various names, from the point of view of possibili- ties' of one overtaking another, was uninteresting, there being hardly any changes in the order after about one third of the coupons had been registered. One result of this was that a number of voters who sent in more than one coupon and judiciously changed the order of the ten or twelve names chosen, had at least one of their voles which ran very close to that of the winner in point of actual merit.
