No Workles in United States.
Sir Alfred Yarrow, the engineer and shipbuilder, interviewed at Southampton an his arrival from New York in the Cunard liner "Aquitania," said that there was no unemployment in the United States. Trade union restrictions on demarcation he said, do not exist to anything like the same extent as in the United Kingdom. Men were more free to take any kind of employment that they capable of carrying on. He con- sidered that prohibition was bene- ficial in the manufacturing districts; the increased efficiency per man' was estimated by large employers of labour at 17 to 18 per We have," he added, to face the fact that owing to prohibi- tion competition with the United States will be greater than ever." Dusty Wheat.
When, among many other finds apparently far more important in the Tut-ankh-amen relics, the dis covery was made of a small amount of dusty wheat, not a great deal of attention was paid to It When, however, a handful of it having found its way to Hungary and been planted there, it was announced, that not only had it sprouted, grown, and matured, but that it had turned out to be wheat of excep total quality, greater interest was aroused. Similar cases have been known before, and provide extra ordinary evidence of the vitality of these grains. There is forcibly brought home to thought, more- over, from such instances, that though modern methods of viticul- ture have done wonders, the tendency of the world's food plants has evidently not been toward im-

A concession to operate the port will be granted to as international, company, in which France will hold thirty per cent of the shares, and England and Spain will each hold twenty per cent.
It is pointed out in London that the port agreement is a minor affair, which must not be confused with the international statute. Tangier is now negotiating with the British, French and Spanish representa tives and the delay in the signature of the statute is due to hesitation by Spain to agree to the arrangement, which maintains the authority in Tangier territory of the Sultan of Morocco, whom Spain regards as a French puppet.
When the new draft statute is signed it must be submitted to the other signatories of the Algeciras Past, including America and Italy.
