ALL PARTIES CONFIDENT.

MORE DISGRACEFUL ROWDYISM.

(Reuter's Service to the China Mail.

LONDON, December 5.

The eve of polling day. Ends all parties co fident of imprying their positions. An official the Conservative headquarters declared that given fine weather to-morrow, the Conservatives hoped not only to maintain their majority but even to increase it. It is stated at Liberal headquarters that the canvass has been very encouraging. Great Liberal enthusiasm is reported throughout the country. An official declined to make a forecast but declared that if the promises made them were fulfilled everybody would be in for a big surprise. Labour headquarters are confident that they will Increase the party's representation in Parliament. An official declared that there would certainly be 171 Labourites returned and probably more and Labour would still be His Majesty's opposition. As regards weather, rain and sleet is the forecast. It is believed that this will lessen the Tory poll while not affecting the Labour vote to the same extent.

LLOYD GEORGE'S LAST WORD TO LONDON.

LONDON, December 5. Mr. Lloyd George, who to-day wound up the Liberal campaign in London by a great meeting at Camberwell in support of the Rt. Hon. Mr. T. J. Mac- namara and other Liberal candidates in South London and subsequently proceeded to speak at Brighton, sent a message to London electors declaring that Londoa, the greatest city in the world, was endangered. "She lives by trade as no other city in the world lives thereby and if trade is to grow, it must be free." He said that tariff's would deal a deadly blow at the work and wages of the citizens of London.

LADIES BADLY INJURED.

LONDON, December 5. Further election. rowdyism was reported to-day, The Conservative candidate for Newport (Monmouth); Mr: R. J. Clarry, and his wife were surrounded by a hostile crowd in the docks district last night. Stones and mud were thrown. Mrs. Clarry, who was struck with sand and kicked in the leg, is unable to leave her hotel to-day. Lady Eustace Percy was badly injured last night after a meeting at Hastings in support of her husband. A crowd of rowdies in the hall`interrupted Lord Eustace Percy's speech and a broken cup was thrown at the platform, narrowly missing the Chairman's face and striking Lady Eustace Percy on the side. After the meeting, a dense crowd surrounded Lord Eustace Percy's car and in the confusion Lady Eustace Percy's right arm was jammed in the door of the car and badly bruised. The crowd jeered and shouted as the car drove off.

DEADLOCK NOW ENDED.

MWASHINGTON, December 5. An armistice between the political groups was arranged at a conference in the evening whereby Congress, with Mr Gillett presiding, will be organis- ed on December 5, thus clearing the way for Pre- sident Coolidge to deliver a message on December 6.

LATER.

DISSOLUTION LIKELY.

BERLIN, December, 5. Herr Marx has announced that the Government is at present unable the dispense with the military state of emergency to which he attributed the state of peace prevailing throughout the country... An Emergency Powers Bill will be discussed to-morrow. It will be opposed by the Socialists and probably, the Nationalists and as a two-thirds majority of the Reichstag is necessary to pass the Bill, a dissolution is likely to follow.
