Hingston has beed appointed Companion of the Bath in recognition of his gallant conduct and valuable services, last, September, when the Royal Naval Sick Quarters at Yokohama ere destroyed.by.fire in the earthquake and he was the direct means of saving the lives of a large number of refugees, who sought to escape from the fire in the hospital grounds. The Meritorious Service Medal has been awarded to Willian Bilton, C. R. Eyles and A. G. Richards. -

At the meeting of the International Rugby Board in London to consider the Macpherson Case, a resolution was passed, disapproving the action of the Welsh Union for sanctioning the presentation on account of the high intrinsic value.
