General Semenoff.

A dispatch from Peking says General Gregorie Semenoff, former Commander-in-Chief of the All-Russian armies and later anti- Bolshevik leader in Siberia, was killed, together with a group of his followers, in the earthquake in Yokohama. Semenoff came into pro- minence in 1918, when he headed the armed movement to break the control of the Reds along the Trans-Siberian Railway. He was the most prominent of the "White," or anti-Bolshevik leaders, until his | army was cut to pieces. He visited the United States in 1922.

Roy Hynes, Chief of the Pro- hibition Bureau of the United States, is shown leaving the White House in Washington, where he held a protracted 'conference with President Coolidge. It is believed they were discussing the forth- meeting between the coming President and the Governors of the several States, at which prohibition enforcement will be discussed.
