INDIANS IN DOMINIONS.

LONDON, November

At the ranclusion of the debut. on the status of Indians in the Dominions the Maharajah of Alwar warmly thanked the Dominion Premiers for what they had done on behalf of the Indians in all Dominions except. South Africa. He declared the British Empire was not such a dark patch for Indians as sonic believed, and expressed the opinion, that now that goodwill and co-operation were prevailing on all sides, this difficult problem will be set at rest! so that India will be able to turn ber mind to her own domestic pro- blems and work out her salvation as a loyal integral part of the Empire.

Sir Sapru was similarly confident' that the Indians throughout the Empire would derive new hopes from the and encouragement Dominion's attitude. He especially paid a tribute to the support and encouragement received from Vis- count Peel, who identified himselfi with the Indian cause equally with the Government of India and the Viceroy.

REPARATIONS INQUIRY.

WASHINGTON, November 2. Concern is occasioned in official quarters by statements attributed to M. Poincaré indicating a desire to restrict severely the scope of the reparations inquiry.
