KEEPERS' ADVENTURE AT THE ZOO.

There has been a rare but regrettable incident at the London Zoo, for one of the skunks, in a moment of nervousness, has used his artillery. Two keepers were the victims.

The skunk is like a man armed with an old-fashioned flint-lock pistol. Once it has been fired, there can be na segund shot for some-time. So the skunk keeps his armament as a threat and very, very seldom uses it in captivity, unless he is thoroughly upset and in fear of his life.
