Here is a photograph of the ZR.: (Zeppelin Rigid No. 1) taken on the day she was launched from her cradle in the United States Naval hangar at Lakehurst, N. J. The world's largest dirigible will make her first flight_shortly, and this cut will be handy when 'she flies. The ship was as sembled under the super- vision of Commander R D. Weyerbecker, U, S. Navy, assisted by Captain Antone Heine, of the Zepplin Works, Friederichshaven, Germany. Tacy are shown in the control basket of the airship.

Rarely a d; passes that some impetuous automobilist, attempting to ross ahead of a speeding train, is not killed. This driver tried it, but swerved just in time to avert a tragedy.

Rition strike

A strike of only tree hours in the State Money Printing Works in Berlin caused crowds to gather for hours in front of the Reichshank to await money with which to pay their employes. The photograph shows the Green Police trying to hold back the crowds. With the value of the mark constantly dropping, even the three-hour delay threw the Government back in the efforts to print enough paper marks.

Taxicab drivers will stand high in the estimation of Miss Ruth Thomas, a guest at the Hotel Bristol, in New York City. She left $50,000 worth of jewels in a taxi driven by Bernard Reilly. A short time after she had notified the police of her loss Reilly walked into her hotel and banded her the gems. She gave him $500 in crisp $5 bills, which she had intended offering as a reward.
