CHICAGO, October 19.
(Reuter's Service to the China Mail)
LONDON, October 19.
A crisis has developed with regard to the State Medical Insurance system. The rejection by the Minister of Health of the request of the Panel Doctors for arbitration, on his offer to reduce their fee by a shilling to 8. 6d, has led to a private meet- ing in London to-day of doctors from all parts of the United Kingdom. It was convoked by the Insurance Act Committee of the British Medical Association. Twohundred were present and unanimously rejected the offer of the Minister of Health. This decision is expected to lead to the resignation of the doctors, who are credited with the intention to launch their own medical service. Approved Societies yester- day decided to resist any call on their funds beyonda fee of 78. 3d.
