The Ohel Leah Synagogue, 40 Robinson Road, was the scene of a pretty wedding yesterday after- noon, the contracting parties being Mr. Maurice Cario, merchant, resid- ing in the Hongkong Hotel, and Miss Laura Dunn, eldest daughter Sept. of Mr. and Mrs. S. Dunn, 14 Sey. mour Terrace. The nuptial cere- ony was performed by Mr. David Gubbay and attended by many friends of the bride and bride- groom,

Mrs Dunn, the bride's mother, was present, as was also Mr. Dunn who gave his daughter away, The Oct. best man was Mr. Jack Behar.

After the ceremony at Synagogue a reception was held i in the Jewish Recreation Club, at which the newly married couple

CULPRIT SENTENCED.

The theft of a desk clock from Lugar, Hall, belonging to Mr. M. H. Roffey of the University, a desk-cock in folding leather case and a pair of shoes from Mr. D. V. Steavenson of No. 65, Kennedy Road and an overcoat from Mr. Hodge of No. 45, Conduit Road, resulted in a Chinese burglar being sentenced to two months' hard labour on each count by Mr. J. R. Wood this morning.

Defendant was arrested while walking in the street with the garment and enquiries led to the recovery of the other articles,

Twenty different populær local plana ures are named below. Select the ton you consider the most popular and wilia the m out in the order of your choice. Then out the form out and send fì to the "China Mall” oflos marked "Tote,"

The list which comes nearest the correct solation will win the prise. The correct solation will be decided by the general rota, the item polling the most votes being placed drst, the ons coming next being placed second and so on until the list at ton is completed.

Therefore the secret of the contest is Not to select the ten most popular items in alphabetical order from our list. But to select the ten most popular items from our list and judge what place each individually will occupy-which will come first, which second, and so on until all ten have been placed

The contest lasts from Monday to Saturday. The result will be announced In the "China Mall" on the succeeding Wednesday, when the winner's name mili be published along with the correct let.

Every copy of the "China Mill" contains one form giving the reader ons try for the prize. Regular readers thus have not less than six tries in one week. Competitors may saad in is many forms as they like.
