In view of the obvious need that will arise in China for trained engineers of her own people to develop railways and mines when order is once restored, and thus add enormously to the well-being and prosperity of her teeming millions, a "China Mail" representative sought the views of Sir William Brunyste, K.C.M.G., Vice-Chancellor of Hongkong University. as to whether there was any justification for the belief that the engineering course was not proving as successful as anticipated.
