The new Tobacco King is Sir | Hugo Cunliffe-twen, who has suc- ceeded Mr. J. B. Duke, an Aneri- on, as chairman of the British- American Tobacco Company. It has been suggested that the apprint- ment of Sir Thugo represents a valu able British point at the expense of Ameries, and that British' interests uro still further strengthened by the ulleged controlling power of the Imperial Tobacco Co. over the British-American Co. Sir Hugo Cunliffe-Owen, however, has ex- plained in un interview that wrong conclusious had been drawn from purely accidental circumstances.

The skeletons of five women were discovered by movies in a small yard in the Maison-Blanche quarter, in the south-east of Paris. They were lying side by side about gft. down.
