VACCINATION.

IMPROVING THE LAW.

The unsatisfactory position of public vaccinators at the present time, the abuses which have been found to exist in the general system of vaccination in the Colony, and the necessity of providing a regular method of vaccination for intending emigrants which will be suitable to the require ments of the countries or colo- nies to which they are

The opportunity has also been taken to introduce a number of changes of varying import- ance, some of which have been adapted from the provisions of the Straits Settlements Quarantine and Prevention of Disease Ordinance, 1915.

The Attorney General said the effect of the Bill would be that the vaccination of emigrants would fall into the hands of the Govern- ment service and he thought that effect was a desirable one.

The Colonial Secretary seconded and the Bill was read a first time.
