A large force of Ammen were buded in the collapse of a wall during a fire in a dance hall at Brooklyn. It is feared that ten portshef. Thirty were injured,
The disaster occurred fust when the fire had apparently been got under control. A number of firemen on the roof and others on, the lower floor were streaming water into the flames.

LONDON, August zi. Professor Illingworth, of the South Wales School of Mines, after sixteen years' research, claims that he has produced by low temperature carbonis- ation of small coal what is practically artifical an- thracite.
This discovery is calculated to revolutionise the coal and patent fuel trades.
Professor Blingworth says that the process of manufacture enables the extraction of 25 gallons of crude oil per ton of small coal, four gallons of Firemen, police and civilian volunteers are motor spirit, a quantity of sulphate of ammonia, and attacking the ruins from all sides.
