A diamond necklace stated to be worth £10,000 was stolen from Mrs. Mary Fielding, a British visitor who was sitting in the stalls of a music-hall.

'The loss was discovered as Mrs. Fielding rose to leave. She inform ed the police that the chain of her bag had been cut and that the bag Meanwhile a tall, well-dressed itself was missing.

Mrs. Fielding found that the bag contained all her jewellery except the necklace, which was composed of 56 diamonds weighing 10 carats each and the central drop 15 carate. Mrs. Fielding, after reporting the whole matter to the police, has left Paris for Nice.
